HALIBURTON,
KAWARTHA, PINE RIDGE & DISTRICT PRESCHOOL SPEECH & LANGUAGE SERVICES
Sharing books with young children is one of the best ways to promote learning
and speech/language development. Research has shown that children who are read
to at a young age are more likely to have advanced word understanding, turn-taking skills, listening skills, picture recognition, and visual attention
skills.
If you are a parent of a baby, toddler or preschool child, take the Share-A-Book Challenge. Read 30 books over 30 days. Chart your success and then call the Preschool Speech and Language Phone Line to enter to win prizes. The first 180 callers will receive a gift. Call us in October to receive your free Share-A-Book Challenge booklet at 1-800-416-3260. Brought to you by the HKPR District Preschool Speech and Language Services and funded by the Ministry of Health.
