CHILDREN’S
FUNCTIONING REPORT
For the past 18 months, Connor Group
Homes in Campbellford have implemented a Risk assessment and Outcomes format for
all children in their homes. Recently, an independent consultant reviewed the
data and produced a report on the successes or lack thereof, of children’s
functioning levels within their programs. The Risk Assessment data is measured
against data obtained from the Simcoe County Mental Health statistical
information who are using the same format. Anyone interested in this information
may obtain it by emailing Bob
Connor at: bconnor@redden.on.ca.
OUTREACH
PROGRAM EXHIBITION
The Art Gallery of Northumberland has launched the first
exhibition of the its new outreach program, Show on the Road, funded by a
Community Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. William Rider-Rider:
Panoramic Photographs From the Great War is now on view at the Hope
Township Municipal Hall, which is located at 5325 County Road 10, about 5 km
north of Welcome. William Rider-Rider was commissioned by Lord
Beaverbrook to record war activities overseas for the Canadian War Records
Office. Unlike the photographer whom he replaced on the front, Rider-Rider did
not stage any of his war compositions. Poignant and atmospheric, these photos
present captured moments of Canada’s participation in WWI. Originally curated
by Christopher Creighton for the AGN in 1989, the exhibition of 44 panoramic
photographs will remain at Hope Township Municipal Hall until after Remembrance
Day. It will subsequently travel to other community locations within
Northumberland County. For more information, please contact Alicia Boutilier,
Project Coordinator at (905) 372-0333.

NORTHUMBERLAND
The Peterborough AIDS Resource Network (PARN) invites all to canvass during the Red
Ribbon Campaign in Peterborough and throughout the four counties of
Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Haliburton. If you have always wanted to
do something to help fight AIDS, come and help PARN raise awareness and offer red
ribbons to our communities. Locations are available that require people to canvass for two-hour
shifts on Friday evening, November 26th and all day Saturday,
November 27th. The Red Ribbon has become an international symbol associated with
HIV and AIDS. Wearing the red ribbon conveys an important message.
It demonstrates caring and concern for those living with HIV and AIDS; a symbol of hope that a cure
will soon be found; and it offers support for those
living with HIV and AIDS and their friends and family members. If you are offered a Red Ribbon, please wear it as a
tribute to all who
are infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. For
more information or to register as a canvasser, call the PARN office at (705)
749-9110 or 1-800-361-2895, and ask for Paula or Joyce.
