LIBRARY INSTALLS NEW PHONE SYSTEM
The Cobourg
Public Library is pleased to announce the installation of a new
telephone system during the week of December 6th. The new system will make it
easier for citizens of Cobourg and Hamilton Township to directly access library
services while offering unique service enhancements. The system works similar to
others the public is accustomed to. Callers may choose from a series of options
to access the information they need. This will include either specific people,
or departments as well as upcoming library events and library hours of opening.
A new Children's Story Line will also be offered. Interested parents and/or
caregivers will be able to call the library. By making specific choices on their
touch tone phones, their children can enjoy a prerecorded two minute story. To

ADVANCE
CARE PLANNING CONFERENCE
The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Ontario Seniors' Secretariat present a
one day conference titled: "Advance Care Planning: Ethics, Policy and
Practice". The conference will be held on Friday, February 25th, 2000 from
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Michener Institute, 222 St. Patrick Street,
Toronto. The conference will be on methodologies and issues for practical
implementation of advance care planning. Seating is limited to 300 participants.
Registration is $125/single person, $105/group rate (3 or more), and
$40/students. A continental breakfast is provided, although lunch or dinner are

ARRIVALS AT THE HOSPICE LIBRARY
Lakeshore Hospice has received some new materials recently for the library
located in their office. Please feel free to drop in and borrow any of the
resources they have available. Lakeshore Hospice is located at the Golden Plough
Lodge, 983 Burnham Street, in Cobourg.
